Week commencing 30th April
Dear parents/carers
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend,
Last week the children were very excited to receive our caterpillars, we will be able to watch them over the next few weeks getting bigger and bigger then eventually turning into beautiful butterflies we can release into the garden.
The children have also really enjoyed playing with the mummy and baby matching cards and life-cycle pictures, they are very good at putting them in the correct order and talking about what happens.
Next week we will be creating an obstacle course for the children experimenting in moving in different ways and introducing some positional language.
Our role play will be a camping scene, the children will be able to go fishing for number fish, build a stick fire, and go exploring!
In our small group time we will be drawing pictures of our-selves and talking about what we are good at and what makes us special.
We will also be having fun experimenting with voice sounds, this supports the children to hear different sounds in words enabling them to break them down and blend them together which will help them learn to read when they are ready.
Rising fives
Our sound of the week will be 'n' and we will be playing chain games from the letters and sounds programme. The children are doing very well with changing for PE so don't forget their shorts and t-shirt! last week we enjoyed acting out life-cycles of frogs and butterflies, this week we will be playing some ball games in groups and pairs, thinking about working together.
