Week Commencing 3rd June

Dear parents,

I cant believe we are already heading into the last part of the term, we have a lot going on over the next 7 and a half weeks!

Next week we will be playing shops, the children always enjoy this in their role play and it encourages a variety of important skills. If you have anything you could add to our shop from empty food containers/boxes to real foods we would be very grateful.

The children will be busy making cards for Daddy's over the next two weeks, and we would like to invite all daddy's to a daddy's day breakfast on Friday 14th June 8-9 (if they are unable to attend we are happy for another family member/friend to step in).

Our focus of the week will be understanding the world 'technology' so will have the technology box out, i pad, computer and tills for the children to explore.

Rising fives- our sound of the week will be 'l', and we will be playing sound lotto listening games.

Over the next month we have forest school sessions spread over different days, all children are welcome to join us, if this is not your child's session please feel to join us at the pre-school at 11.00.

The weather is being quite unpredictable but please can we remind you that on warm days your child needs to come to Pre-school with a sun hat and sun-cream already applied, if they are in all day please provide a LABELED bottle of sun-cream to reapply in the afternoon. Many children do love to spend a great deal of time outdoors especially in the sunshine so to keep them safe i'm afraid we will have to keep them indoors if they do not have the correct protection.

We will be holding out tough toddler event again this year, this is a sponsored obstacle course that we started last year and was amazing fun so we have brought it back! You may have already received your Tough toddler sponsor form if not it will be waiting for you at pre-school. siblings and friends are welcome to join in if you need more sponsor forms please just ask.

whilst we encourage the children to bring in an item for our sound basket for our sound of the week please could all other toys be left at home (excluding comforters). They are causing a great deal of upset among the children, we have plenty of things for the children to play with and always note what each child has been enjoying doing each week so we can ensure they all have toys and equipment out that they are enjoying playing with. (You may need to check their bags as some children are bringing in toys in their bags which i'm sure sometimes they have slipped in on their own!)
