Week Commencing 14th May
Dear parents/carers.
Another week has whizzed by! The children have been enjoying looking at different life-cycles even making up their own games challenging each other to put the picture cards in the correct order (which they are very good at now!). Our caterpillars have grown so fast and are now chrysalis's, the children are very excited about seeing the butterfly's emerge.
A huge thank you to Jessica's mummy and daddy for some lovely astroturf, we plan to use it to add interest and fun to different activities such dinosaurs and small world, even as a prop for the bear hunt story, so far the children have however been laying out the 'lawn' to play and sunbath on .
Next week our focus will be numbers, we will be using animal templates the children will need to select the correct amount of spots/stripes/shapes. We will look at counting in sequence, counting out a certain amount from a larger group, matching numeral to quantity, and will adapt the activity to best suit each of your lovely children.
We will also be getting in the wedding spirit leading up to the royal wedding, making wedding hats, decorating flags and reading the scarecrows wedding story.
In our small group time we will be playing games that support our communication and language skills focusing on understanding.
